Ingredients For Spicy Chicken Patty Recipe
As this recipe is aimed to reuse the leftovers, you can get creative with most leftover bits in your fridge that you know no one will eat again.
For this envelop style chicken patty recipe I have used:
⇒1 cup of leftover chicken pieces, cut into cubes
⇒2 boiled and mashed potatoes
⇒1 finely chopped onion
⇒1 roll of ready-made pastry dough
⇒Salt and pepper to taste
⇒2 tbsp Hot sauce or ketchup
⇒2 tbsp oil for sauteing and brushing
SPICES USEDÂ
⇒2 tsp roasted cumin powder or 2 tsp curry powder ( you can make your own by following this homemade curry powder recipe )
⇒1 tsp chilli powder
Step-wise Method For Making Spicy Chicken Patty With Images
Here is how to make the chicken envelope style chicken patty
STEP 1Â – Prepare the filling with left oversÂ
Chop leftover chicken or meat into small pieces and set aside
STEP 2Â
Boil and roughly mash potatoes or used leftover potatoes if you have any.
STEP 3Â
Heat oil in a pan and saute chopped onions until translucent.
STEP 4Â
Add the chopped meat pieces and mashed potatoes and mix well.
STEP 5Â
Add salt, 2 tsp of curry powder or roasted ground cumin powder, 1 tsp chili powder and mix. Add hot sauce or tomato sauce to the mixture if you wish.
STEP 6 – Roll out the doughÂ
Roll the ready-made pastry dough into 4 large oval shapes. You can use the ready rolled dough as well and cut into into 4 large squares.
STEP 7Â
Take a 2 tablespoon portion of the spicy filling and place it on the bottom end of the oval pastry dough. Fold over the top part and cover the filling. Apply a bit of water or flour slurry on the sides.Press the sides together with a fork to seal firmly together.
STEP 8 – Baking the PattiesÂ
Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius for 5 minutes.
Brush some oil on top of each patty and bake the patties for 15-20 minutes until it becomes golden brown in colour.
STEP 9
Serve hot Indian Style Spicy Chicken Patty with ketchup.
